Glass. It had to be glass. The guy who'd hit him was apologizing profusely, trying to help him up, and only making things worse by wiping his face with a bar towel. Beating him off, Ace fumbled blindly in the general direction of the men's room, leaving a trail of red behind him. There was still bits of glass in his hair, and stuck to his brows and lashes, so he didn't dare open his eyes. The shrill screams, however, alerted him that he'd blundered into the wrong bathroom. Muttering apologies, he fell into the men's room door in his hurry to escape the ladies room.
Finding the sink wasn't too hard, but getting the glass off his face proved stupidly difficult. It didn't help that he couldn't see what he was doing. His movements were jerky, rapid, as much from urgency as pain. Haunt had broken Rule No. 1: Don't hit on the Boss. He hoped the investment had been enough.

Re: Ace, I just met the perfect girl!
Date: 2015-05-27 09:23 pm (UTC)"Oh?" was all he could manage at first.
His nose had a slant to the right that hadn't been there before, and a raw spot on the bridge. Shallow nicks and cuts dotted his face, a few still weeping red. His tie, shirt, and jacket were a mess, probably beyond recovery. Blood pooled behind his lips as he tried to smile, stretching skin cut by his teeth.
"That's wonderful."
If it doesn't get him killed first.

Date: 2015-05-27 10:59 pm (UTC)"I can't even keep pretending, first of all I have this amazing woman looking out for me named Necia, and second, while hot, I am pretty sure your boss is nuts." It went way beyond that, far beyond what he could put into words. "Should we take a quick trip to Doc Ahole or do you have someone that handles heals here?"

Date: 2015-05-28 01:21 am (UTC)Two women? Ace sighed inwardly. Some people had all the luck- and more since Haunt was paying. It didn't seem fair. If Ace wanted a date, he usually had to visit the 'Velvet. Ah well. Such was life.
Oh good. He had noticed. "Do you think it's that bad? You look like you took some damage yourself."
